Q: Has the filter changed? How often should it be washed?

A: The DC40 Animal features two filters: One inside the cyclone pack and the other behind the motor. To ensure maximum efficiency and effectiveness, we recommend once a month, simply remove the filters from their locations in the cyclone pack and one of the ball shells, rinse them in cold water and leave to dry for 24 hours before putting back in their places. Q: How do you empty the dust from the vacuum when the bin is full? Is there a risk of exposure to dust particles?

A: The DC40 is easy and hygienic to empty. Because there no bags, you simply release the bin from the vacuum with a push of a button. Then empty the bin directly into a dustbin by the pressing the catch at the top of the handle. Return to top

Q: Where are the filters and do they need washing?

A: The pre-motor filter is located in the center of the cyclone, found underneath the cyclone handle. The post-motor filter is located in the Ball™ housing with the purple cap. Both should be washed in cold water once a month and left to air-dry fully, for at least 24 hours, before being put back in the machine. Return to top
